The 2013 Lost Acre Tempranillo has proved an exciting new wine for us. 2013 was the first vintage made from the vines we planted in 2006. For our first outing, we decided to make a Joven or young style Tempranillo with the wine spending only a few months in oak before bottling. The resulting vibrantly-coloured wine has been one of the most dynamic we’ve produced, developing significantly in the bottle month-by-month after its bottling in July 2013. Its showing at the NSW Wine Awards came 14 months later where the wine has established its fresh fruit and tannin style.
