Quarry Hill 2008 Shiraz
2008 was a great year for Shiraz in the Canberra District, producing grapes with ripe flavours and excellent natural acids at lower alcohol levels. The wine, aged in a mix of new and older French oak, is a bright purple in the glass. It smells of raspberry, plum, spice and a little pepper. Through the palate, there are flavours of mulberry and plum, fine tannins (helped by using some whole bunches in the ferment) and a crisp, dry finish. A good match with steak, kangaroo or game birds. Winemaker: Alex McKay. 13.5% alc.
Price: $18/Bottle – $198/Case Discount

Quarry Hill 2006 Sparkling Shiraz
A bright, rich, red-purple in the glass, this Sparkling Shiraz features notes of red fruit and plum pudding. The palate is full, soft and silky with a fine mousse, flavours of black currant, plum, mulberry are complemented by fine tannins and a long, dry finish.
For this sparkling vintage, the fruit was hand-picked early for higher acid and lower sugar. The wine was made using the méthode traditionelle, with an extended period in bottle on lees to allow the development of complex flavours. Available in crown seal or Zork SPK closure. 14.5% alc.
Price: $25/Bottle – $140/Six-Pack Case Discount
Quarry Hill 2006 Pinot Noir
5% whole bunches were used in the ferment, with gentle egg fining to preserve the subtle finish. The Pinot Noir has aromas of mixed spice, plum and cherry fruit and foresty, minty overtones. The palate shows fresh spicy red plums and red berries, with some sweet oak. Bright acids complement the fruit characters, and it flows along well with a good finish. It works well with a wide variety of foods. 13.8% alc.
