This wine is the result of a plan we set out many years ago, to add a new clone of Shiraz to our vineyard with the goal of creating a premium wine. 2015 was the first vintage of the new planting that delivered outstanding fruit - this "Great Western Best's Block" clone makes up 45% of the blend, with another 31% coming from upper rows of our oldest Shiraz block and 11% from the lower rows. We also blended in 10% Grenache and 3% Roussanne.
We think this is the best Shiraz we've made - it's a distinct style that reflects both the blending choices, and the unique terrain of our vineyard.
