This Pinot Gris is based on superb fruit from the Tumbarumba wine region in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains - the higher rainfall, cooler temperatures and more sympathetic soil profile make it an excellent location for growing this variety.
However the distinctive light copper-pink colour, and the name - Two Places - gives a hint that this wine has a little bit more going on: we've blended in Mourvedre from our own vineyard, hence fruit from two places.
A bench blend showed that 7% Mourvedre rounded off the steeliness of the Pinot Gris, giving a more fruit-driven palate, while still retaining the characteristics of the variety.
The nose exhibits bright notes of honeysuckle, apple, pear and a little spice, with a long smooth palate of nashi pear and red apple.
